Working "smarter and not harder" is what we need to do. For the most part it was not a lack of effort tonight, but a lack of "adjusting" to basic things on the court. Once again we are our own worst enemy. (Not to take away anything from Honey Creek at all) We had so many opportunities to make strides in that direction tonight and yet we get "intimidated" by a team that is obviously not as physical as we are, but they are able to execute. As I told you during halftime, "We need to learn to play like we belong on the same court"...I am not saying that the outcome would be different but when you just take a step back and look at things such as "freethrows" (6 for 21) "Missed lay-ups"(over a dozen) Poor adjustments on the press, (Once again, we only see what is right in front of our faces ("tunnel vision") and don't recognize anything outside of our direct line of sight. All of these things have nothing to do with who we are playing. It has everything to do with what "we are not doing". I am sure you are getting as tired of hearing me say these things as I am of having to say them...We are not talented enough to surrender this many scoring opportunities each and every game. We are very capable of competing at a much higher level.
We are 1-2 in this "quarter" of our season. We can end it at .500 with a better effort in our next game. Let' work to make that a reality.
